#1:Why was writing from an objective point of view necessary for Wiesel’s
completion of his memoir? Why did it
take courage for Wiesel to begin with Moshe the Beadle?
Writing in a objective point of view was necessary for Elie Wiesel because it showed the true side of the Holocaust story. I believe that Elie wants to show the story more as an outsider looking in .I say this because throughout the story he talks about the others around him but not really how he felt at a certain time.He also shares others stories while telling his own. I believe that the objective summary allows the reader to make up his or her mind about the process of the Holocaust. Some people are told untrue facts and myths regarding the Holocaust. When reading "Night" you get the actual victim telling you what was really happening how the Jews reacted in each part of it.For example in chapter 1 Elie states 'Of course we had herd of the Fascist , but they were still just an abstraction to us".This means that the Jews of Sighet knew about things the Fascist were doing but still just ignoring it.This also proves that Elie wasn't looking to over exaggerate his point or add his feelings he really just wanted the world to hear him and what he witnessed. It takes courage for Elie to begin with Moche`the beadle because he represents two things that are very close to Elie .The first thing is religion. Elie throughout the book will question his religion and mostly likely still was when he wrote this novel. Moche' the beadle also represents the obliviousness of the Jews of Sighet . when Moche' surprisingly he warned all the Jews and none of them believed him .That was mostly hard because Elie and his family could have escaped The holocaust if the just would have listened.
Writing in an objective point of view was necessary for Wiesel because he wanted to be very honest and not put his biased opinions towards anyone or anything. He wanted the readers to have their own opinions through the facts he gave. He was very blunt, and straight to the point. If he were to have made "Night" a subjective point of view, people wouldn't know how the holocaust actually went. Some things would have probably been exaggerated due to the emotions they caused ( anger, sadness, grief, etc).Him writing in an objective point of view leaves room for the reader to have their own interpretation of the story without viewing them the way Wiesel did.He didn't write "Night" to get sympathy, he wrote it to let the world know what him and countless others have been through the Holocaust and ways to try to prevent it from happening again, like said by the Wu Tang Clan " Never Again". It took courage for Elie to begin with Moche`the beadle because he symbolized faith and religion throughout the story. It questioned and tested Elie's religion, ( he asked himself why god was making them suffer and endure that tragic event ). Also Moche`tried to explain to everyone, including Elie, how he was mistreated and what they will be going through soon. But everyone thought he was crazy and ended up ignoring his warning.
Writing with an objective point of view means not writing more than can be inferred by the dialogue of the story. I think it was necessary for Elie to use this method of writing because this means he would have to use pure facts with no opinionated facts. This story is supposed to be based on non biased facts so that we can imagine his experience in the camp and throughout the Holocaust. It took courage for Elie to begin with Moché the Beadle because Moché meant something, he represented Elie's faith. Before Moché was expelled to a camp his faith in God was extreme, but after he miraculously made it back to Sighet his faith in God had lessened, he no longer had the joy in his eyes he had when his faith was strong.
Writing from an objective point of view was necessary because if Wiesel hadn’t done so then you wouldn’t get the full effect of what happened during the holocaust. If Wiesel had not been blunt about what happened then people would not see and feel what he went through .For example in the story he talks about his life before the holocaust and how he had the perfect life and community. As the story continued on you saw how things changed in his life. In the story it showed how his friends and family were completely oblivious of the fact that there rights were taken away. They were upset at first but then they slowly got used to the new circumstances .They would keep living a “normal life but in fact they were just at the beginning of a long hard road. Wiesel telling the full effect of the story made the reader feel like they were there too and it was happening to them too. He told how everyone felt and it made me as the reader connect with the text, and I connected because I could see this happening all over again with Donald trump. It took courage for Wiesel to begin talking to Moshe because he saw how people looked and felt about him. The people in the community ignored him and though nothing more of him than that he was a humble but poor man. It also took courage because he saw how religious Moshe was and it kind of intimidated him and made him want to become like Moshe. It also took courage because of the fact Wiesel was a 13 year old boy trying to be more religious than most 40 year olds. Wiesel didn’t let his age be the reason his faith didn’t take over his life.
For Elie Wiesel, witting in an objective point of view was necessary for many reasons. He wanted to give his biased opinions on events that took place for him during his time at the camps in the Holocaust. If he had put in feelings like anger and bitterness, we wouldn't get a full feel of what happened in his life. We would have read the book based on what he felt, not the actual situation at hand. It took courage for Elie ti begin with Moche The Beadle because it was at cost with his fate. Nobody believed that such horrible things happened to Moche. They thought he was mad and he was going crazy. But when Moche explained it to Elie, Elie was forced to be open minded to the situation and to question his faith.
Writing an objective summary of his life was the only way to retell these events without showing hatred or being biased towards others. Putting his feeling in the mix would've jeopardized the meaning that was intended for this book. The book was supposed to be about the events and horrors of his lifetime. Not about how he felt towards his struggles. It took courage for him to start with Moché the Beadle because it challenged his faith(views). Like the other people of his community Wiesel thought that Moché was going crazy and just wanted attention, so he didn't believe him. It was only until the events started happening that he was more receptive to what as going on around him.
Writing from an objective point of view for Wiesel's memoir was necessary because it prevented it from being like other books about the Holocaust. Many books about the Holocaust and from it tell the emotional side of things but they don't show or tell what really happened before they were sent to concentration camp; Elie explains what the Jews of Sighet thought, felt, and experienced when Germany took over Sighet, and how they were counted off and sent into ghettos. Elie also describes how they tried to make the best of what they had and tried desperately not to let the Nazis get to them; even when they were being deported they had doubts that Hitler wanted to exterminate a whole race.
It took Elie courage to talk about Moche' the Beadle first because Moche' was a symbol of his faith; Elie spent hours upon hours studying the Cabbala with Moche' and grew up in a very religious family. When Moche' returns from deportation; he no longer holds the same faith he once did; he no longer believes in God or of any higher being; he only tries to warn his fellow Jews that danger is coming, yet they ignore him and call him crazy or felt pity.
Writing from an objective point of view was necessary for Wiesel’s completion of his memoir because he wanted to make sure that everyone knew about what actually happened in the holocaust and not any lies or cover ups. He wanted to make sure that he stated all of the facts so the readers would be able to form their own opinion on the Holocaust. An objective summary is filled with facts and it allows the readers to be able to make their decisions and make their own opinions based on all of the information that was given. It took courage for Wiesel to begin with Moshe the Beadle in the story because Moshe was just a janitor and he was very poor. He was Elie's teacher of Jewish mysticism. He was all about faith and was happy and positive. Once they took him away he returned to the village after surviving a massacre and tried to warn the other Jews to flee but no one would listen to him and they thought that he was crazy and they ignored all of his warnings that he attempted to give. At this time in the story, he changed. His faith was gone and all he ever talked about was what happened to him while he was taken to the camp.
writing in a objective point of view was important to Elie because it shows how he felt as everything was happening to him and his people in Sighet while the Germans were taking over and moving them to the other camp and the things that happened to them before the Germans moved in. Because Moshe the Beadle had been through his already with another part of Germany
